Nepal Earthquake 2015

As you may have heard, an earthquake of magnitude 7.8 struck Nepal on April 25th 2015. A series of very powerful aftershocks have followed which have caused sustained panic and hindered relief efforts. While actual estimate of the damage is difficult to estimate, the death toll has already surpassed 5,000. Several thousands are injured and millions are affected overall. Most of the older houses in Kathmandu metropolitan areas are destroyed and people are currently camping outside in tents. Several villages in rural parts of Gorkha and Lamjung districts are completely destroyed.

As concerned friends of Nepal, we can pray for Nepal but we can also contribute financially. Over the next few weeks, several international organizations and Nepali volunteers will need food, medicine, tents, fuel, and clothes. Please keep in mind, any amount you can contribute will go a long way. For example $1 is equivalent to 100 rupees. This is enough to buy five meals or two shirts!
